The Hormone Diet Reviews – These wise and ancient sayings were my guiding principles in developing a thyroid diet when everything else (ie: western medicine) failed to help my thyroid drama (first Graves’ and then Hashimoto’s disease) .

“Let food be your medicine.” and “All disease begins in the gut.” After years of trying different things, I finally put the pieces together and call it the Thyroid Diet Plan.

I wish there were two different words to say what I mean: one for “diet” like when you want to lose weight and the other “diet” like a change in nutritious food that brings health and happiness. Well… But you know that when I say “diet” I mean a protocol, a way of life, a way of living and eating that can free you from some or all of the fatigue, depression, worry, yo-yo. weight, food failures, and infertility that plagued you for a long time. I want to share with you what I know about the best healing diet for thyroid problems.

There are many people who say that there is no scientific evidence linking diet to thyroid problems or healing. We have a choice to make about how we want to see things and about what we want to believe. Choice is a powerful tool. We will never forget that. Although there is supposedly “no evidence” that diet is linked to thyroid healing, you may say to yourself, “What if I try something new and different for 3 weeks and see how I feel? ” Because honestly, what do you have to lose? Especially if you’ve been sick for a long time… Maybe you’ll learn something new and have fun along the way! You have a choice. You may choose to start a thyroid diet plan and see what happens.

Before reading, it is important to know that 90% of hypo- and hyper-thyroidism are the result of an autoimmune disorder. (Most people don’t understand this, because doctors usually don’t take the time to explain things.) Most hypothyroid conditions are Hashimoto’s and most hyperthyroid conditions are Graves’ Disease, which means your immune system is attacking your thyroid. Because the immune system lives in the gut or our intestines (Did you know that?!) Most of what you read here is about rebuilding the digestive system.

To explain the foods in the Thyroid Diet plan, let me talk about the 3 pillars of my approach. I developed 3 pillars while asking myself these questions:

#1 What should I eliminate from my current diet and lifestyle that is sabotaging my immune system and thyroid?

#2 What can I add to my life to strengthen my immune system, detox my body, and help my thyroid?

#3 How can I find BALANCE in what I do so that I don’t go crazy and instead enjoy my “new life?”

Here are the 3 Pillars of the thyroid diet plan I created, to answer the 3 questions above:

The first important step in the thyroid diet plan is to normalize sugar cravings, hypoglycemia and/or insulin resistance. If your sugar problems are not solved, your thyroid will never improve. This is because the pancreas is responsible for sugar metabolism and because, like the thyroid, the pancreas is part of the endocrine system. As you can imagine, these glands are interconnected. Here are some tips for you on how to adjust your diet for thyroid health:

See “gluten free”, “dairy free” and more. What’s popping up in health stores right now? This is because many people cut out the “big five” (gluten, dairy, wheat, eggs and soy) and experience dramatic changes. To find the causes, I always start with an Elimination Diet and it produces clear and unbiased results. You can also do a food intolerance test (not an allergy; it’s different) but it’s far from accurate. Gluten is a bad food for contributing to thyroid conditions, and elimination is key. However, in general, you need to cut out more than gluten if you want to shape your diet for thyroid health.

As mentioned above, most thyroid conditions are autoimmune diseases. There are tons of lymphocytes and other immune cells in the gut, which protect the body from viruses, bacteria and other invaders. This is why most people with thyroid conditions have frequent bloating, gas, constipation or diarrhea. A change in diet can help your gut a lot. “All disease begins in the gut,” said Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine. I’m not sure why this isn’t taught in schools today, but it’s an important part of a thyroid diet plan.

You need to reduce the toxins you eat from additives, preservatives, artificial sweeteners (!), excess sodium, and trans fats and try to eliminate toxins hiding in your home. Water intoxication is a HUGE problem with thyroid conditions. Most public water systems in the United States have added fluoride, which is now linked to thyroid suppression; It is believed that fluoride penetrates the thyroid cells preventing the absorption of iodine, hence the altered production of thyroid hormone (T4).

You want to detoxify your liver and your intestines, because this is where the T4 hormone (inactive hormone) is converted to T3, the active hormone that gives us energy. Most of the cells in our body need T3, not just T4. When you take Synthroid, you are taking a synthetic version of T4 that needs to be converted to T3. If you have a slow liver and intestines, you will not convert well.

Consider doing an annual or bi-annual detox through fasting, juicing, etc. so your body can rest. We have designed a detox program that supports the thyroid and hormones.

This is a big topic, especially for women. You can’t heal your thyroid without healing your adrenals. The adrenals are also part of the endocrine system and are released when you are stressed. I recommend looking into the symptoms of adrenal fatigue to see if you have it. De-stressing by working with a therapist or life coach, taking up meditation, breathing, or positive thinking—or whatever works for you—is key.

Stress can also cause chronic digestive problems. When the small or large intestine is in trouble (when you are constantly constipated, bloated, suffering from gas, pain, loose stools, etc.), the body sees it as a condition of stress. Cortisol is a powerful hormone that we cannot do without. However, in excess, it can have a detrimental effect on the thyroid and the immune system (one of the functions of cortisol is to modulate the immune system).

If you suffer from hypothyroidism, you should not eat raw. The goiter is a substance that prevents the absorption of iodine to produce the T4 hormone. The cruciferous family is: bok choy, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, mustard, radishes, soybeans, soy milk, soy lecithin (often used as a filler in vegetarian food) and tofu. Cooking can reduce their goitrous properties, however, so they can still be an important part of a thyroid health diet.

The Thyroid Diet Plan

The reason is: all cruciferous vegetables are rich in DIM (di-indolyl-methane) which is a substance that supports the detoxification pathways of the liver. This detoxification process helps us eliminate metabolized (or “used”) hormones like estrogen and even thyroid hormone to make room for new ones.

Soy is the only exception – we should not consume it, unless it is in fermented form (like miso or tempeh) and then only a little.

That we must cut these rare vegetables. Just don’t juice it and don’t eat too much in raw form. Its nutritional profile is so high that we do ourselves a dis-service by cutting it out, only to load up on supplements. Most people who suffer from hypothyroidism have Hashimoto’s disease – you should take care of your gastrointestinal health as your #1 priority, followed by stable sugar levels (see above) and finally, supporting your liver functions.

Pillar 2: Add what your thyroid needs to start healing A. Nutritious food, macro and micronutrients in good proportion

They are the building blocks of your digestive tract and our hormones. We are fat-phobes in America, and low-fat diets are one of the worst things we’ve ever invented. Europeans and Asians have a high fat (traditional) diet and are healthier than us. Good fat recommendations: avocado, walnuts, coconut oil, coconut butter. Animal fats are the best to restore disturbed digestion; Ghee (clarified butter), butter, chicken and beef fat are important, but they should be given and not in fried or processed form.

Everyone has bacteria in their digestive tract, or gut, that are essential for the functioning of the human body. A healthy adult has about 1.5 – 2 kg of bacteria in his gut, both good and bad. Normal levels of bacteria, or flora, in the gut protect against invaders, undigested food, toxins and parasites. When the good and bad bacteria in the gut get out of hand (ie, more bad than good), many negative reactions can occur in the body. Indigestible food can enter the
