The benefits of eating ginger and lemon are well known. Most of us have heard a lot about vitamin C and the antioxidants it contains. We love the combination of lemon, ginger and honey and have been warming it for years now, whenever we feel something cold or starting to get that cold winter.

I decided to increase the popular combination, add cayenne and turmeric and turn it into a cold drink. Although turmeric has long been described as a “super food” that is astringent, we add it because of its warm and earthy flavor, and it brings a wonderful bright color to the interior.

But cayenne pepper is all about heat. Although widely touted to help with weight loss and as a tonic for various ailments, I love adding a kick to our lemonade!
