I want to preface this post by saying that there is nothing wrong with wanting to lose weight! We live in a time where body positivity and self acceptance is on the rise and I really support this. But you can also practice self-love and acceptance while traveling to get to a healthy weight that works for you!

This weight loss smoothie recipe is a twist on a smoothie that I have included in many of my clients’ meal plans and can help promote healthy weight loss along with a balanced diet!
It all depends on what’s in your smoothies! Because smoothies come in many combinations and sizes, there are those that will definitely support weight loss, in your weight loss journey while others will not. It also depends on your own diet, but I think smoothies can be a great part of a weight loss plan.
This means no added sugar from soda or other refined sugars. Whole fruit and some natural sweeteners (maple syrup, dates or honey) are a perfect and healthy way to help your sweet tooth without loading up on refined sugar.

Since smoothies are often made, it’s important that they also contain protein to help balance out the fat in the recipe. The protein also supports muscle recovery and formation to improve the body. Whether it’s peanut butter, almond butter, pea protein, cashew butter, plant protein or vanilla protein powder, anything can help provide a good protein boost in the drink.
Just like the protein, the fat helps to balance the sugar in the smoothie and makes the smoothie filling and satisfying. But because fat is higher in calories, it’s important to use fat. A tablespoon of peanut butter or coconut oil, or 1/4 of an avocado is usually enough!
