I want to preface this post by saying that there is nothing wrong with wanting to lose weight! We live in an age where body positivity and self-acceptance are so widespread, and I totally support it. But you can practice self-love and acceptance on your journey to a healthy weight that works for you!

It depends on your personal nutritional needs, but I think smoothies can be part of a healthy weight loss plan.

This means no added sugar from sweetened juices or other refined sugar sources. Whole fruits and small amounts of natural sweeteners (maple syrup, dates, honey) are a great and healthy way to support your sweet tooth without overloading on processed sugar.

Since smoothies are primarily fruit, it’s important to include protein that helps balance out the carbohydrates in the fruit. Protein helps repair muscles and improve body composition.
