I started eating keto when I was pregnant and dealing with gestational diabetes. It was a way for me to focus on eating healthy fats and protein… without spiking my blood sugar with extra carbs.

Paleo Vs. Keto: What’s The Difference?

After I had my baby, I realized that I really felt better eating keto. I had no loss of energy after eating. I also didn’t crave sugar so it was easy for me to stick to the keto diet. Plus, I just wasn’t hungry while eating keto.

When I started researching food sensitivities, I discovered that along with gluten, dairy is a very common food sensitivity.

With keto I was almost gluten free… but I was eating more dairy than before. All of our favorite keto recipes seem to be loaded with dairy after dairy. I started to feel that I really needed to make some changes.

The easiest thing was to look at the keto recipes I had already made, and they were also without dairy products.

Many of the recipes I’ve shared before can easily be modified to be dairy-free by using dairy-free alternatives.

Low Carb Bread Review: 10 Popular Brands Tested

I’d say I’m moving more towards a paleo diet (which would be grain free + gluten free + dairy free), but not completely – and that’s okay! The biggest thing I want to focus on is limiting the foods that cause inflammation. For me, it’s best to start with gluten and dairy.

If it seems like a lot needs to be changed at once… don’t! Make one change and focus on it for a week. By the end of the month, you’ll swap 4 different products for dairy-free alternatives.

What small changes can you start adding to your life that will help you achieve your long-term goals?
