This is a serious autoimmune condition. Only a blood test can determine whether someone has the disease. Weight loss, bone loss, hair loss, iron deficiency and tooth decay are some of the symptoms of celiac disease.
How To Follow A Gluten Free Diet Plan For Weight Loss
Many people remain undiagnosed. If you suspect you may have celiac disease, see your doctor. Indigestion can cause much bigger problems than just a stomach ache.
However, many more people are dealing with gluten sensitivity. Unexplained bloating, joint pain, fatigue, irritable bowel syndrome and weight gain are some of the symptoms that a person may have gluten intolerance. Estimates suggest that more than 18 million Americans have non-celiac gluten sensitivity.
A good way to find out if you have a gluten sensitivity is to completely eliminate it from your diet for a few weeks. Keep a food diary, write down how you feel, how you sleep, and maybe what you weigh. Do it every day. After two weeks, reintroduce gluten. Start with one meal a day. If you are sensitive, you will know very quickly.
You’ll likely notice bloating, gas, or other signs of tenderness. People with gluten sensitivity or celiac disease can greatly improve their gut health by eliminating gluten.
A Gluten Free Food List For Different Diets
Gluten can cause inflammation. This is a big deal. People with chronic inflammation have a hard time losing weight.
Examples of chronic inflammation include allergies, recurrent bronchitis, recurring sinus infections, arthritis, rashes that won’t heal, fatigue, etc. Eating foods that fight inflammation can help, but avoiding foods like gluten reduces it.
