Diet For Advocare 10 Day Cleanse

Diet For Advocare 10 Day Cleanse – Disclaimer: Katie Thompson of Running4Cupcakes offered me a 10 day herbal cleanse in exchange for a review. All other products mentioned were purchased by me. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own. I am not a professional, just sharing my thoughts. Always consult a professional before starting a new diet or taking new supplements.

Katie from Running4Cupcakes contacted me before the holidays about joining the Advocare 24 Day Challenge (check out her Advocare post and distributor page here ). Now I’ve heard people rave about Advocare but honestly don’t have the money to spend on expensive supplements that are mostly vitamins. I am also very skeptical of diet plans and products that are pushed and distributed by people. My curiosity was further peaked when CrossFit champion Rich Froning became an endorser. Katie offered me a 10-day herbal cleanse box to try and talk about my results – so I accepted!

While I want to drop a few pounds, I don’t believe in spending money on weight loss supplements or fancy cleanses. Our bodies are very good at getting us where we need to be and detoxifying ourselves, especially if we treat them right. But this whole “herbal cleanse” is really about getting some fiber, probiotics, and eating clean. After 2 weeks of Christmas cookies, booze and holiday parties it seemed like a good idea to have a good reason to force myself to reset and focus on food.

What Is The Advocare 10 Day Cleanse?

The 10 Day Herbal Cleanse is the first 10 days of the 24 Day Challenge and 1 box contains 6 packs of Fiber Drink (I got the peaches and cream flavor – I heard the lemon was awful), 7 packs of Herbal Cleanse Fiber Capsules and packs of 7 Probiotic Recovery capsules (product info here).

Alternative or recommended Advocare 10 Day Cleanse products are Spark (energy drink), Catalyst (amino acid supplement), meal replacement shakes, and Omegaplex vitamins. The products are expensive for me. I checked the ingredient lists for products that were pretty basic and found that I already had a lot of amino acid supplements and protein powders lying around to use. I also already take fish oil and omegas, so I didn’t even buy the omegaplex.

I bought a few packs of Spark Packets ($29.99) because I liked the idea of an energy drink packed with vitamins, especially since I would be giving up coffee for the challenge. I bought watermelon and mango strawberry flavors.

Ah yes, but no coffee?!? I don’t need to drink coffee every day, but I love the taste. Avoiding acidity is suggested, as Spark contains caffeine.

Best Advocare Products

Dietary recommendations for the cleanse and challenge include lots of fruits and vegetables, at least half your body weight a day in water, low protein and limited whole grains. You should avoid processed foods, dairy products, added sugar, fried foods, soft drinks, coffee and alcohol. A minimum of 30 minutes of exercise is also recommended, 5 days a week which is no problem for me.

I started on January 12th so I’m using it as a sort of dry January challenge which is a nice reset after Chicago and the holidays when I was on a bit of beer and red wine.

I don’t believe in cutting out whole food groups if they can be nutritious, but thought it would be good to reset. I also saw how completely cutting out coffee, alcohol, dairy and limiting processed foods would affect IBS and stomach issues. There are only 24 days for the entire challenge, so it’s not a full month. I don’t drink dairy, but cutting out frozen yogurt, Greek yogurt, and cheese was hard at first.

Now, I’ve looked at some blog posts for recipes, and it seems that some take the “clean eating” challenge more hardcore than others. I’m not going to lie, on the 6th I ate the entire lemon raspberry cupcake at my cousin’s baby shower and it was delicious. Oh well, the world didn’t end and this whole challenge was about working to fit it into my lifestyle, not stressing about what I eat.

Workout Wednesday: Advocare 24 Day Group Challenge!

Have you ever done a gentle cleanse or supplement with fiber? Have you ever tried any Advocare products? No cheese for 10 days. No cupcakes, no brownies and no Starbucks. You may be saying to yourself, “Ummm…does Bridget hate herself all of a sudden?” In fact, I love myself and my family, so I do the Advocare 10 Day Cleanse. I know from watching other people’s success that I want to look and feel my best at the end of the 10 days!

So a group of 4 (myself included) started cleaning on 1/13/15. I set up a group lesson and it made the whole day so much easier. Hunger makes people say funny things. I’ve done a couple of cleanses before, but never been in a group, so it was fun to have the support. Let me break down the day for you.

So first you get up and drink a fiber drink. If you don’t mix it with Spark energy drink it will screw you up, so we mixed the bad boy with Spark and life was good. I didn’t leave my coffee. Cleaning was not possible without spark. From there we had breakfast – nothing fancy today, just eggs and an apple and peanut butter. You should eat every 2-3 days. Hour to kickstart my metabolism, I kept my snacks simple like nuts, peppers and cucumbers.

Lunch was even easier. Unfortunately, I admit, I thought I would be too weak or tired to get creative with food. We had grilled chicken, steamed green beans, 1/4 cup brown rice and cherry tomatoes.

Not going to lie to you, I was hungry at dinner. And I peed every 5 seconds. You should drink water by dividing your weight by 2. I weigh 114 pounds, so I need to consume 57 ounces of water. I suffer a lot.

Dinner was great though! My husband and I both loved it! We had fried asparagus and tomatoes, salmon and quinoa.

2. Lay the cleaned asparagus and tomatoes on the baking paper. Sprinkle on the garlic seasoning and olive oil. Roll the vegetables around so they are well covered and then place in single layers.

1. Place salmon in a Pam-sprayed baking dish. Drizzle over olive oil, lemon juice and garlic (to taste).

2. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and put the salmon in the oven before it’s fully preheated (yes, you read that right before you preheat it to 400).

3. Bake for 20 minutes, checking the salmon a few minutes before, the thickness may determine how long it needs to cook.

Well, we all survived the first day of purification! No one cheated! Life is good, I feel very happy. Advocare 10 Day Cleanse Review 2022

Advocare products used during this time are both optional. Let me repeat: Both Advocare products used during this time are optional. If you want to take something, take 3 capsules 30 minutes before lunch. You can also have a sparkling drink at lunch or for an after-lunch snack. Both are optional, but we want you to know that you have this option. Some even take up to 2 Omegaplex, either here or at dinner. It’s up to you and won’t mess you up if you trade or switch.

Choose 1 protein from this list: grilled chicken, salmon, tuna, turkey (not processed), 3 eggs or lean ground beef

Choose 1 complex carbohydrate from this list: ½ cup brown rice, sweet potatoes, or brown or whole-grain pasta.

Choose as many vegetables as you like: All green vegetables are your first choice, and yes, avocados are fine. Lettuce, broccoli, zucchini, green beans, asparagus, spinach, cucumber or celery. Tomatoes and onions are also fine.

Tips For Getting The Most Of Your 24 Day Challenge

• If possible, avoid dairy (cow’s milk, yogurt, butter, etc… dairy is high in sugar and feeds toxins).

• Salad dressings (due to fat and oil content – use salsa or freshly squeezed lemon juice and condiments instead)
