After hearing how good it is for cleaning my friends at work, I’m more than willing to give it a try! Completing the cleanse has many benefits. They include but are not limited to: more energy, less stress, bowel movements and better sleep!

I’m sure there are many testimonials like ours, but the only way to see the different results we’ve seen is to actually commit to a full 10 day cleanse. Make sure you follow the instructions and advice given to you by AdvoCare and its representatives. AdvoCare includes general nutritional recommendations in its product instructions and on its website. I have never seen their ideas so helpful and insightful. After reading all the instructions, I have many questions. So I wanted to share what really worked for me.

The purpose of the AdvoCare Cleansing System is to assist in natural nutritional detoxification. If you are serious about actually cleansing your body with what you eat, AdvoCare cleanse will be the best choice. During the 10 days of the cleanse, try to satisfy your stomach as much as possible and eat to stimulate it. Try to stick to lean meats and fish (wild-caught fish and free-range poultry/eggs), whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, and healthy fats like avocados and nuts or seeds. Try to buy as much of it as possible from the organic sector to avoid long-term pesticides, antibiotics and chemicals.

Never eat anything made during a cleanse. Measures win for cleanliness, but that’s easier said than done. There are many prepackaged “health foods” that contain many unhealthy additives. When shopping for food, read the ingredients carefully. Also eliminate sugar from your diet. Well, that means skipping meals for 10 days! I promise you’ll feel better afterwards if you do!

I’ve added this as a separate point because it may not be as intuitive to some people, so I want to prove it and explain it. Dairy products containing probiotics, such as kefir and yogurt, help speed up digestion. However, most of the options I see at my grocery store are high in added sugars. I went completely dairy free for the cleanse and did well. As for caffeine, there seems to be mixed research on its effects. It just seems to depend on the person. I decided to completely avoid coffee during the cleanse. I drank 1 cup of green tea in the morning and 1 cup of hibiscus rose tea in the afternoon and it seemed to work well for me.

Well, if you’re going to ignore all my comments here, please listen to this one! The party plan can change when it comes to cleaning. There is nothing worse than being really hungry and having no good options to eat in front of you. When creating your meal plan, make sure you include three meals and two healthy food choices each day. It might sound cliché, but trust me, it’s better to overcook than undercook!

Although this step is not critical, it is easy. If you live with a roommate or significant other, I highly recommend inviting them to participate in the cleanup with you. It’s hard to eat for 10 days when your roommate cooks pork and you smell like it. If you’re alone, it’s not a bad idea to have extra support in the form of a friend who cleans with you!

Life can be very busy, so this task can be very difficult, but try to schedule cleaning for at least 10 days when you have no commitments. I made a mistake when I went to clean on the weekend of St. Patrick. Patrick, so I learned this the hard way. While my friends and family drank green beer and ate Reubens, I cut out fruits and vegetables. If you can’t avoid responsibilities completely, try to at least schedule cleaning for the weekend, where it can be simple.

This is subjective, but I think starting on Monday or Tuesday is the best option to progress the cleanse. This is because if you start on a Monday or Tuesday, you only have to work one weekend. You will finish cleaning on Wednesday or Thursday. I started the cleaning last Wednesday and although it was done last Friday, it was a little difficult to finish well.

As with everything in life, as long as you are well prepared, completing a food cleanse is not as difficult as it seems! Hope my advice helps. Whether you’re on the fence about cleansing or not, I highly recommend giving it a go! If you take it seriously and do what it takes to get it right, you won’t regret it when you’re done!
