Advocare 24 Day Challenge Diet – A few weeks ago I posted about my weight loss journey – Zumba, Cleaner Eating and Advocare! At the time of publication, I was preparing to start the Advocares 24 Day Challenge…an incredible bundle of products that work with your body to cleanse toxins (Phase 1, 10 days), restoring your body for optimal weight loss and overall wellness. (Phase 2, 14 days). First, if you haven’t read the original post, do so now to see how it got started.
Yesterday was the last day of my 24 Day Challenge and I couldn’t wait to share my results with all of you! First, I want to thank you for the kind and encouraging comments on the original post and for your continued support with more clean eating posts over the past few weeks. So, without further ado…my results!!!!

I can’t even express how happy and healthy I am now!!!! Besides the incredible weight loss and the loss of inches… I no longer feel lethargic, I don’t feel like eating (except for the occasional popcorn during the movie – although I sneak organic popcorn into the theater), I see more definition. In my stomach, arms and legs, more energy… in general like everyone else. The weight loss is amazing, but I’m really thrilled that I’m healthier on the inside too!
I am so grateful that my friend introduced me to these amazing products that work with your body to make things work efficiently and help you achieve your goals…whether it’s weight loss, toning, strength or overall wellness, Advocare has you covered!! ! I really enjoy being able to help others achieve their goals, so please contact me if you are interested in learning more!

For the next 24 days Kev and I do the Advocare 24 Day Jumpstart, formerly known as the 24 Day Challenge. They recently moved to a new regimen called ONE/80, where the first 24 days are the start, the next 28 days are the improvement phase, and the last 28 days are the lifestyle.
Advocare, for those of you who don’t know, is a company that promotes physical and financial health through their nutritional products, weight management and athletic performance as well as their training techniques. Although I’m a consultant with them, I don’t actually sell the products. Together, Kev and I have been taking many vitamins and supplements for the past 8 years, and Kev took them during high school! We have really enjoyed many of their products, which is why we continue to use them with great success.

Below I will review my 24 day Jumpstart experience, not as an attempt to sell any of you, but as an informative guide for anyone curious to see if their products are good for your body. If you are interested in any of the products, send me an email and I can help you!
Breakfast: We will eat the same breakfast every day for the first ten days. Sunday night I took about 10 minutes and made all of our smoothies for the week and I’m so glad I did!
Recipe for 2 smoothies: 1 banana, 2 cups unsweetened almond/coconut milk, 1/2 cup water, 8 strawberries, 1 tablespoon chia seeds, 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed, 3/4 cup rolled oats, 1 handful Big turnip. Freeze everything (except liquid) in portioned containers, mix with milk and water, and drink! Very delicious !!
Preparing juice saves you a lot of time in the morning!! Just pour into blender and add milk/water.
Advocare 24 Day Challenge Before And After
These wraps were so amazing! Spinach green is a spinach hummus I’m going to kill for…I also used it in my egg/avocado salad for dinner.
Advice for those of you who have pressure vessels. Crack all your eggs into a plate and place in a pressure cooker for 10 minutes. You’ll have an easy time slicing hard boiled eggs without the trouble of peeling them all!
Names. I wish I could ditch the evening snack in a few days, but for now, the sweetness of fruit and a drizzle of honey hits with super refreshing homemade Greek yogurt.
This is the fourth or fifth time we’ve done the challenge and it was definitely our easiest start. This is a good sign!! This means that our bodies are not as rough as they used to be and the detox/cleansing is not as intense. Having said that, I had a few carb and sugar cravings yesterday, but prepping the snacks and getting ready to go ensured I didn’t give in to those cravings. Dates dipped in peanut butter are good for a sugar craving and some rice chips hit the spot for a carb/salt craving.

I had a mild headache yesterday afternoon, but I think it might have been from all the sneezing/blowing I’ve been doing (thanks for Austin Allergy). My stomach felt fine and I can already tell my skin is peeling off (it’s been very rough for the past two weeks).
The main reason I took this challenge is to help heal my gut and get it back in good working order. I’ve always had a few stomach issues, but I’m starting to learn that most of them contribute to good and bad gut health along with dairy, gluten, and sugar. Resets are always helpful to re-energize yourself with healthy eating!
Lunch: Leftover rice cakes with avocado and egg salad. This is an absolutely wonderful cleansing meal. It’s incredibly filling and doesn’t have anything gross.
Snack: I prepared our dinner for the next two nights during this time period, so I ate a few ingredients here and there. So, my snack was a few pieces of chicken, some shrimp, and some brown rice. I have also had myYogi Detox tea at this point.
My Advocare 24 Day Challenge Journey: Day 10
Dinner: An easy chili lime fish taco from a pinch of yum, but made with shrimp instead of fish. We already had a bag of shrimp in the freezer and it was absolutely delicious! We also had some carrots, chickpeas and a little cantaloupe.
Snack: Last night we walked for SXSW, so I packed my 85% cheese and dark chocolate bar in case I wanted to buy something from one of the food trucks. It worked!! We didn’t feel like we needed anything else.
I didn’t get a lot of pictures, yesterday, but here’s the chili shrimp ready to be taco!
Overall, my energy levels were fine yesterday and I wasn’t as hungry throughout the day as I was on the first day. My skin continued to be clear and my stools (TMI?) became more normal. I ran a brisk mile yesterday and had to stop a few times to catch my breath, probably because I haven’t eaten much carbs in the past couple of days and my body is still adjusting. I have noticed some dry patches on my face so I will be keeping an eye on them for the next few days to see if they go away. Again, I think my skin is just going through a period of recovery and there may be some negative symptoms before it gets better. All in all, another great day!
My Advocare 24 Day Jumpstart Experience
Breakfast: Like yesterday! Smoothie for both of us then ate 2 eggs before leaving for work to push him a bit longer.
Snack: none. Not the best idea to keep my metabolism going, but I’ve been very busy and shy away from eating anything.
Dinner: I made a big salad with a bunch of ingredients: kale, spinach, avocado, red onion, cucumber, and leftover shrimp all dipped in a homemade Southwestern lemon yogurt dressing. Half of it was wrapped in a whole grain tortilla! (You should make tacos out of everything, right?)
The third day was amazing! Energy levels are still high and I really enjoy all the food we eat. “Eat” may sound like an odd phrase, but many people when they hear we’re doing a cleanse assume we drink prune juice all day and eat raw broccoli. This is not the case at all! We can eat really tasty and clean food!
