Whether you know it or not, you may be suffering from some form of inflammation. Chronic inflammation is associated with a whole host of health problems. It has been proven that chronic inflammation can be significantly reduced with the right type of diet and lifestyle.
Left Container – Sweet potato puree replaces the gluten-free oats in this recipe, making the breakfast vegan and paleo-friendly. It’s easy to make Whole30 compatible, too.
Right Container – Superfood Overnight Oatmeal with Blueberries. Soaking oats in milk overnight breaks down the phytic acid in the grain. This allows for better absorption and digestion of nutrients, resulting in an anti-inflammatory response.
Left Container: Indian Spice Baked Sweet Potatoes and Carrots. Eggs aside. You can cook the potatoes and carrots first (al dente), then add the eggs to the bowls and cook for another 10 minutes, with hard-boiled eggs in the oven.

Right Container – Same concept as above, but we dropped the peppers from the recipe. Eggs are lightly scrambled with turmeric, salt/pepper and coconut milk and then baked. Similar to my Yellow Baked Egg recipe, but no scrambled eggs. They can be cooked ahead of time or in a food prep container. Spinach contains only salt, pepper and curry leaves (cumin, coriander and turmeric).
Left Container – Dukkah Roasted Vegetable Salad without tomatoes (no belladonna). We add grilled chicken for protein and iron. This dish is low in carbs and high in vitamin D and fiber from the mushrooms!

Left Container – Zucchini Smoked Salmon Noodle Salad (No Cheese) – We substitute our own homemade goat cheese or you can use cashew cream dressing. It is a NO COOK MEAL, very easy to prepare and low in carbohydrates.

Most mornings, I sit down with MyFitnessPal and enter the foods I’m going to eat for the day until the calories and macros hit my goals.
This week my goals are to aim for a daily goal of 1200 calories high in protein and low in carbs. The low-fat slice comes naturally because I love low-fat foods.

Despite the supply of macronutrients, a low-calorie diet can lead to weight loss. However, for these 1200 calories of high protein, low carb and low fat, the total is: 1151 calories/153g protein, 86g carbs, 16g fat. If you count macros, it’s 55% protein, 30% carbs, and 15% fat.
When creating calorie-focused meal plans, I plan meals so that calories are low rather than high. For a few reasons I go under planned calories.
For one thing, it’s hard to get accurate measurements of the calories in the foods you eat. Different tools, different reporting methods, and different products vary in terms of calories.
But the main reason the plan is under 1200 calories is because many of the things we eat often go unmonitored. Bites, appetizers, dips, vegetables, vitamins, gluten and sugar-free foods really add calories.

So, at the end of the day, even if you think you’re eating less, you’ll be close to 1200 calories.

After I ate my planned meals, I changed up the fruits and vegetables a little each day to add variety to my diet, but kept the calories and macros constant.

Although I like variety in my diet, I don’t like shopping for every type of food. I only change my meal plan weekly instead of daily. Much cheaper this way!
