1200 calories may not seem like a lot. If you’re eating a standard American diet, chances are you’re eating more. But if you pay attention to the food you eat, it can be satisfying, much more than eating mountains of unhealthy junk food.

Carbohydrates are more than other foods. Try to get the carbohydrates you eat from high-fat foods instead. This means you get extra nutrients with your food. A simple change like replacing rice with brown rice may be healthier in some ways, but it won’t make a difference in your total carb intake. Some changes need to be made. One thing vegetarians should be aware of is that your protein build also contains carbohydrates, things like black beans or veggie burger buns. So you need to look at your macros differently to limit your carb intake.

I couldn’t agree more and I love renovating this way. When I’m busy doing things I love and enjoy, I don’t have time to focus on food, and I don’t care if what I eat is boring.
There is a time and a place to LOVE food. Yes there are. We all love food. But if you’re in the middle of bikini pageant prep or eating, find other things in life to fill the void. Don’t let it become your food.

My goal is always to hit 1200 calories a day, which allows me to eat lots and lots. At the end of the day, I’m usually around 1,500 calories.
Regardless, I think it’s very helpful to have a 1200 calorie plan, leaving some unplanned meals. Although I don’t eat the same thing every day, there are often variations in those foods.

My goals this week have been to aim for 1200 calories a day with high protein and low carbs. Low fat is natural because I love low fat foods.
A low-calorie diet has been shown to result in weight loss despite macro allocation. However, for this 1200 calorie high protein, low carb, low fat serving, the total is 1151 kcal / 153 g protein, 86 g carbs, 16 g fat. If you read the macros, they are close: 55% protein, 30% carbs, and 15% fat.
When I create a calorie-restricted diet, I plan my meals so that calories are reduced, not eliminated. I’m moving on
