Top 10 Reasons You’re Not Losing Weight (and What To Do)
Creating a calorie deficit is the only effective way to lose weight and achieve your goals. Especially if you already eat healthy and exercise. Until you cut calories to lose weight, you may lose weight for a long time.
In my case, I had to cut 1200 calories and weigh and measure everything I ate to lose the “last 10 pounds”! However, it took several months of hard work to achieve the goal.
But it’s also been over 30 years! So a few months of extreme stability is not a very long time.
1,200 calories would be the calorie threshold that most people would agree would meet your micronutrient needs while creating a sufficient deficit.

MY TOP TIP: If you have a day that you enjoy, I recommend celebrating it on REPEAT. Basically, I repeat the same meal (mainly breakfast, lunch, and snack) for a few days, until all of that meal is gone, and then I switch to breakfast on another day. lunch and snacks. However, I always take turns making dinner.
So: DAY 1, eat the same food all week long! So tell me how you feel. I would love to hear from you.

All you need is a plan. Knowing what to eat, when, and how to best plan your weekly meals sets you up for success. The plan I’m sharing today follows a 1200 calorie meal plan for weight loss.
1200 calories may not seem like a lot. If you eat a standard American diet, you probably eat more than that. But if you’re careful about what you eat, it can be more satisfying than eating junk food.
Choosing foods high in protein, fat, and low in carbohydrates will result in fewer calories per meal. But lean protein and quality fats will keep you feeling full after you’re done.
Eating 1200 Calories Per Day & Not Losing Weight (why?)
A low-carb diet – it can mean many things. But that generally means less than 150 grams of carbs per day.
Starch contains more carbohydrates than any other food. Try to get your carbs from high-fiber foods instead. This means you are getting a supplement along with the carbs. Starches include grains such as bread, rice, pasta, and quinoa, but also include starchy vegetables such as beans, peas, corn, sweet potatoes, and potatoes.
Simple choices like swapping out rice for brown rice may make you healthier by some measure, but it won’t affect your overall carb intake. Other changes need to be made. One thing vegetarians should be aware of is that your protein sources include carbs, black beans, and veggie burgers. So you need to look at your macros differently to reduce your carb intake.
Warning! The calories and nutrients in this diet may not be right for you. Always consult your doctor before starting a new diet.
Calories Diet Plan For Beginners
Your meal plan is your best tool in your weight loss journey. If you have a solid plan, you will succeed more easily. The above plan is just an example. Substitutions can be made if necessary, keeping the calorie content of each meal roughly the same. Don’t worry, the difference in calories won’t be a problem.

This morning I was listening to a podcast where a bodybuilding nutritionist asked me how to maintain my diet while in a calorie deficit.
Calorie Diet Meals
I was expecting her to say she eats vegetables or low calorie foods or fills up on diet drinks, but she said better! (check out my post: can you fill up on less food)
As I quote her quote, “You need to love life between meals more than you love food. If the best part of your day is oatmeal, you need to make some changes.”
I couldn’t agree more and I love rewriting it like this. When I’m busy doing things I love and enjoy, I don’t have time to focus on food, and I don’t care if what I eat is boring.
There is a time and a place to love food. Of course there is. We all love food. But if you’re competing in a bikini or dieting, find other things in your life to fill that void. Don’t let it become your meal.
High Protein, Low Carb Meal Plan: 1,200 Calories
My goal is 1200 calories a day, which allows me to eat impulsively and mindlessly. At the end of the day, I generally have about 1500 calories.
Anyway, I think it helps a lot to plan for 1200 calories and leave the rest unplanned. Although I don’t eat the same thing every day, I usually do
